Kamniku in v Bruslju ( 1992 ).
Kot piše Drago Medved, se je Marko Jezernik ves čas
ukvarjal z akvarelom, vzporedno pa je gojil tudi risbo in grafiko. Akvarel je kot tehnika
in način likovnega razmišljanja najbližji avtorjevemu značaju; zvedavo zazrt v svet,
lirično občutljiv in trdno povdarjen tam, kjer mora biti.
Njegove kompozicije so preproste; zgornja in spodnja polovica
lista sta ločeni z imaginarno črto odseva, ki izvira iz motivike same - jezera, gladine,
obzorja. Iz narave črpa tisto skrivnost, ki mu daje moč tudi za licenco poetico, za
samostojne sprehode v iskanje neznanega, skrivnostnega.
Tej želji sledijo tudi barve s ponekod drzno povdarjeno
rumeno - kot sprostilnim momentom. Prevladujejo hladne barve, zlasti modra in zastrto
zelena ter mnogimi odtenki sive.
Jezernikovo slikarstvo je impresionisticen zapis njegovega
odnosa do sveta, ki ga doživlja zanosno, a hkrati razumsko. Tudi zato po Medvedovem
mnenju še dolgo ne bo zapustil akvarela, morda nikoli!
Iz kataloga 41. POLETNEGA FESTIVALA KRIŽANKE,
Ljubljana 1993
Sixteen years ago, after several years of drawing and
painting only for himself, Marko Jezernik finally showed his art to public.
Since then he has had more then thirty one-man and two group
exhibitions:
in Sentjur, Celje, Ljubljana, Videm, Belgrade, Radovljica,
Rogaska Slatina, Rijeka, Radenci, Portoroz, Kamnik, Bruxelles.
Acording to Drago Medved, Marko Jezernik's primary interest
throughout this time has been aquarelle, although he continued to draw. He has also
produced some graphic works. After sixteen years of creativity, aquarelle stands out as
the artist's prefered technique. As a technique and a method of fine-art contemplation it
corresponds most closely to the artist's character traits, that is, his child-like
curiosity, lyrical sensitivity and firm emphasis in just the right places.
His compositions are simple; an imaginary line of reflection
separates the upper from the lower part of the print and is introducedby the motif itself:
a lake, its surface, the horizon...The artist taps from nature a harmoniy which also
endows him with poetic licence, and permits independent excursions into unknown and the
mysterious.
This tendency is seconded by his use of colours. In his
compositions the yellow bursts forward in a moment of relaxation amidst the predominantly
cold colours, especially blue and subdued green, and the many shades of grey.
Jezernik's paintings are an impresionistic recordingof his
world view, which is passionate and rational at the same time. For this reason, according
to the critic Drago Medved, aquarelle is likely to remain Jezernik's favourite technique
for quite some time, perhaps forever!
